Chartered Fundraising Program Assists Community

(Eagle Mountain Casino, Porterville, Ca 93257) – Eagle Mountain Casino has been offering unique opportunities for charity’s and non-profit organizations since 2013. The Charter Fundraiser Program has hosted local non-profits by providing transportation, dining, drinks and free play upon arrival to the Casino. All proceeds raised benefit their organization at no expense to them.

Since 2013 approximately 2 dozen charitable organizations have used the Casinos Charter Fundraiser Program by offering their family, friends, co-workers, and relatives a trip to the Casino for a getaway! The Organizations charge an individual fee of $20 – $30 to board a bus to the Casino. When they arrive, they receive $25 in free play, dining, soft drinks and 4 hours of gaming fun!

The funds raised by these organizations have gone back into their efforts in caring and providing for local people in need. Organizations who have benefited are the Porterville Elks Lodge, Family Crisis Center, SETCO, Porterville Museum, 20 And’s, Carpet Mills, Woodlake Boosters, St. Phillips Church, Tulare Pink Heels, Kern County Black Chamber of Commerce and Knights of Columbus.

According to Sheila Pickrell, Curator at the Porterville Historical Museum and frequent Charter Program user, the money raised during their monthly trips, helps to keep the doors open for education on history of Porterville and Tulare County. The Museum utilizes the program on a monthly basis and has raised $3,450 in 2016.  The funds were used for an Intern, getting back to work training, students with challenges (example: autism, OCD and right now a student with no hands and 1 foot). The Museum also educates on the history of Porterville, Tulare County and Native Americans from the area.

The Family Crisis Center participated in a Casino trip in 2016 and raised approximately $1,500, which went toward expenses at the emergency shelter.

“We were planning a Casino bus about once a quarter and our goal was to raise $1,000 each time.  We did pretty well. It is a GREAT and EASY and FUN way to raise money for our organization and we enjoy it very much” – Ann Green, Executive Director

Kern County Black Chamber of Commerce are also frequent users of the Charter Fundraiser Service and take the trip to Eagle Mountain Casino every other month. Funds raised from the trip go towards office expenses. Approximately $3,000 – $5,000 is raised each year, which is distributed and used to enhance the growing Chamber.
