Eagle Mountain Casino nominated for Business Success Story at Innovators by Design Awards

 On Wednesday, October 12th, 2022, Innovators by Design, the Workforce Investment Board of Tulare County, recognized participants, businesses, and workforce development professionals who have shown innovation, perseverance, and the ability to accomplish big goals during the last program year. 

Tulare County Employment Connection’s Scott Bowler nominated Eagle Mountain Casino for the Business Success Story category. The nomination was for Eagle Mountain Casino’s hiring events in preparation for the new property and relocation of the Casino that will open soon in Porterville, CA. 

“We have approximately 500 team members, and we are looking to have about 1000 team members that we are looking to hire. We continue to work with the Employment Connection, and we’ve built a really good relationship with them”, said Charles Farmer, Director of Human Resources at Eagle Mountain Casino. 
The awards event was held at the Wyndham Hotel in Visalia, and nominations were submitted by the Tulare County Workforce Development System staff and partners. 

Farmer was joined by Eagle Mountain Casino’s Ador Cardenas, Interim Marketing Director, Billie Jo Brown, Recruiting Coordinator, as they attended the event on behalf of Eagle Mountain Casino. 

Innovators by Design offers a unique opportunity for the workforce, education, and intermediary organizations to discuss new strategies and ideas to help maximize career pathway initiatives, business engagement services, and workforce development programming. 

The annual event allows attendees to connect with regional partners over common goals, ideas, and inspirations. 

This year’s keynote speaker included Bob Lanter, Executive Director of the California Workforce Association. The presentation topic was “Workforce development is the New Community Development,” featuring the role of the workforce, development stakeholders, and how they can come together to capitalize on economic opportunity and solve socio-economic challenges. 

Currently, Eagle Mountain Casino is located 17 miles east of Porterville and is a full-service casino owned and operated by the Tule River Tribe. Guests must be 18 years of age to enter. The Casino is open 24/7. In addition, the Grizzly Food court is open 24/7, and the River Steakhouse is open Friday – Sunday from 5pm – 10pm. Eagle Mountain Casino is a short drive from Bakersfield or Visalia.

The new casino property is scheduled to open soon, off Highway 65 in Porterville, CA, next to the Porterville Fair Grounds. The new property will double in size, growing to over 100,000 square feet, featuring new dining options, 1750 slot machines, 20 table games, and a 2000-seat state-of-the-art event center.

Tule River Tribe Presents Veterans Pow Wow at Eagle Mountain Casino November 10th- 12th

Veterans will be celebrated this November at Eagle Mountain Casino with a variety of events including the Tule River Veterans Pow Wow that will take place on Veteran’s Day November 10th and continue November 11th and 12th, 2023. Grand Entries for the 2023 Tule River Veterans Pow Wow are Friday November 10th at 7pm, Saturday November 11th at 1pm and 7pm. On Sunday the Grand Entry is scheduled for 1pm. The 2023 Tule River Tribe Veterans Pow Wow will feature a Northern and Southern Drum Contest with prizes for 1st place $5,000, 2nd place $3,000, and 3rd place $1,000. Specials will include 18+ Women’s Jingle Dance Special, Men’s Grass Dance
