(Eagle Mountain Casino, Porterville, CA 93257) – The Porterville Chamber of Commerce presented the Annual Installation and Awards Ceremony at Nuckols Ranch on November 18, 2022.
Eagle Mountain Casino was awarded the “Large Business of the Year” Award and was nominated by M3R Design.
“Eagle Mountain Casino has over 620 team members right now, not employees, not staff they are a team member, and I am proud to be a part of that team. There are 60 team members that have been there at least 20 years, that’s unheard of. And it’s because of the way the Tule River Tribe treats us as people, not as numbers, not as staff, but as people”, said Matthew Mingrone, General Manager at Eagle Mountain Casino.
Stafford’s Chocolates was awarded “Small Business of the Year” and was nominated by Dr. Anthony Martin with Doc Martin and Associates. Stafford’s will be featured at Eagle Mountain Casino’s new property at the award-winning dining and venues.
Kent Hopper a broadcast personality and host of “Hopper in the morning” was awarded “Man of the Year” and was nominated by Dennis Townsend, County Supervisor, District 5. Hopper frequently promotes Eagle Mountain Casino on his program that has served the Central Valley for 50 years.
“We would like to congratulate all our winners and our nominees. Each individual, business, and organization were all well deserving of this recognition. We deeply appreciate their contributions to our community and were glad we could play a part in honoring them. Thank you to everyone who supported our honorees and this event!” said Kristy Martin, CEO and President at Porterville Chamber of Commerce.
Each award winner received a certificate of recognition from the City of Porterville, County Supervisor District 5 – Dennis Townsend, Assemblyman Devon Mathis and State Senator Melissa Hurtado. Honoree videos will be available on the Porterville Chamber of Commerce YouTube next week.
“We’re in the people business and so is Porterville, so is the Chamber and so is each nominee. This is home because of the people” said Mingrone.
